the conquest of Malacca

Last 2 weeks ago, sikeling and I decided to drive down to the historical of Malacca. It was a blazing Saturday afternoon. Man the heat can kill mind you!

1 group arrived in the morning because they decided to avoid the jam and take their time to stroll along jonker street to find food for breakfast. And they made the right choice by going there in the morning.. Because when my car arrived, the street was packed with tourist which I believed half of them are from KL! and not the forget the scorching sun!!!! I can feel my skin burning and the melanin pigment cells under my skin were starting to do their job! and the worst part is!! I forgot my sunblock for heaven sake!

The one thing that keep our mind behind the cons were the always awesome Cendol on the jonker street~ The stickiness and sweetness of the gula melaka topping on the ice filled with cendol and red bean is just so hard to resist~ Everytime it just makes me forgot all the hassle to get here! and there is laksa.. Just the way I love it! sour and spicy.. *drooling*

This whole trip is all about hanging out and hence we avoided a lot of well known area including the famous chicken rice balls. The queue is crazily long since the restaurant open their door. So we decided to go somewhere else outskirt. Thanks to a mutual friend who is local. He brought us to god-knows-where deep into the villages where the ikan bakar and all the bakar-bakar food were awesome! Malays are still the best in bakar-ing food! Finally I remember to take down some photos. Pardon my photography skills. They are still tons of space to improve.

The otak-otak (Oh god I will die to eat them again!)

Bakar prawn

 Bakar fish

They may not look nice but they taste awesome.. And there were clams and fried sotong and bakar stingray but I was starving that time so I decided to give up taking photos and started engulfing my food! The dishes go so well with the Nasi Lemak. And the Nasi Lemak is the most lemak nasi I have ever tasted!

So that's it for the Conquest of Malacca. Conquest because we discovered other parts of Malacca instead of the usual Jonker Street, A Famosa, Red House kinda thing. Yeah.. So I'm happy~ ^^

Thanks for reading and hopefully you too have a happy holidays~
